Jeff Fraser
Jeff is a 35-year communications executive and former Vice President of both Medipac International and the Canadian Snowbird Association (CSA). In his role at the CSA, Jeff was responsible for the production of major events for seniors, such as “The Snowbird Extravaganza” held in Florida, California, Texas and Arizona. Additionally, he published CSA News, a magazine for seniors, produced syndicated TV and radio specials, and tackled government advocacy for seniors who traveled. However, the founding of Independent SeniorsTM was not just an extension of his professional career. Jeff watched his loving grandmother, Agnes McVicar, spend many years living alone in her home after losing both her husband and later, her companion. With the nearest family member over 1.5 hours away, and without a support system of friends to offer help and companionship, she spent countless time alone until a family member was able to visit her on weekends. Had there been a service like Independent Seniors 26 years ago, Jeff is certain she would have enjoyed her later years with caring compassionate help in the comfort and security of her own home—and that is why he is so passionate about Independent Seniors and its services.
Tracey Fraser
Tracey, a special education administrator for 30 years, grew up holding every position in her family-owned network of nursing homes. It was here, in her youth, that she observed the need for seniors to remain in their own homes for as long as possible in order to foster independence, comfort, and fiscal well-being. For many Senior Seniors, this can only be accomplished through services offered by a qualified caregiver through an agency such as Independent Seniors.
Independent Seniors is a wholly owned New York State LLC, not a franchise, and was founded by Tracey and Jeff Fraser of Clifton Park, NY. Our caregivers are employees of the company and are covered by Workers Compensation and NYS Disability Insurance. In order to become Junior Seniors, our caregivers go through extensive Federal background checks and interviews. We follow through on references and ensure that they are insured, and CPR-certified. Our senior in-home care services and elderly care are provided in and around the Albany New York area. Seniors assisting seniors brings comfort and companionship to the next level and allows families, friends, and other loved ones to rest easy and enjoy life.
